Rick Owens launched his eponymous brand in 1994 in LA - at the height of grunge and in the heart of rock & roll. Dubbed by fans "Lord of Darkness" for his edgy silhouettes and dark palettes, Owens' creations have since built him a cult following that includes celebrities like Kate Moss and Kanye West, as well as wide acclaim in Paris, where he established his home and base in 2003. His eyewear collection showcases the same unconventional sense of style that characterises his streetwear, a mix of glamour and grunge he calls “glunge”, with features such as thick lines, wraparound masks, and avant-garde elements.
