Collection and Access of Personal Data

From time to time, you may be invited to supply to Puyi Group Limited and its related companies and affiliates (“Puyi Group”, “Puyi”, “we”, “our” or “us”, and each, a “Puyi Group Company”) with personal information and data from which you can be identified from, such as your name, date of birth, contact numbers, correspondence address and email address, payment details, method(s) of payment, and account details in relation to the registration of your membership with us. We collect the information for the following purposes:

• registering and managing your membership with Puyi Group;
• processing your online reservation of services for product reservation for try-on, lens consultation and eye examination;
• verifying your identity and/or purchase record for Click-and-Collect;
• processing your registration for attendance of our events;
• processing your purchase of products;
• processing your request for return or repair of products;
• processing request for refund of products;
• processing your appointment with our registered optometrists;
• processing your subscription to our newsletter;
• providing you with customer services, feedback and callback assistance and responding to your enquiries;
• advertising and marketing our goods and services to you;
• conducting customer surveys;
• performing research or statistical analysis;
• protecting and furthering our interests against any security threat (including, but without limitation to, threats to our IT infrastructure);
• protecting against, identifying and preventing fraud and other criminal activity, claims and other liabilities;
• meeting or complying with any applicable rules, laws, regulations, codes of practice or guidelines issued by any legal or regulatory bodies which are binding on us;
• enforcing our terms and conditions and other agreements, including investigation of any potential violation thereof;
• dealing with any feedback or claims made by you; and
• any other incidental business purposes related to or in connection with the above.

Transfer of personal information

We may transfer your personal information to the following categories of third parties for the fulfilment of one or more of the above purposes: CRM agency, marketing and PR agency, eCommerce agency, marketing research agency, Payment Gateway and companies under our mother company Europe Group. Unless we inform you otherwise, any credit card details provided for any online order will only be shared with our payment partner and not with any other third parties and will only be used to process your order using our payment partner’s systems.

We may also transfer your personal information to any business partner, investor, assignee or transferee (actual or prospective) to facilitate business asset transactions (which may extend to any merger, acquisition or asset sale) involving the Group, or anyone to whom we transfer or may transfer our rights and duties.

Where there is a need for us to transfer your personal information out of Singapore to a Puyi Group Company or any of the abovementioned third parties outside Singapore, we will ensure that we comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (the “PDPA”) in doing so. This includes ensuring that the recipient is obliged to provide a standard of protection to such transferred data at least comparable to the protection under the PDPA.

Consent and retention of personal information

By registering your membership with us, subscribing or using our services, you consent to the use of your personal data in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

The consent that you provide will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in writing. You may withdraw your consent for the collection, use and/or disclosure of your personal data in our possession or under our control for any or all of the purposes stated above via e-mail or by post via our contact information set out below.

Upon receipt of your written request to withdraw your consent, we may require reasonable time (depending on the complexity of the request, whether the processing of the request involves any third party, and to be determined on a case-by-case basis) for your request to be processed. Thereafter, we will not collect, use and/or disclose your personal data in accordance with your request, subject to any exceptions as permitted or required under applicable law.

Please note that if you withdraw your consent to any or all use of your personal data or do not consent to the collection of your personal data by us, we may not be able to provide you with products and/or services which you have requested.

Your personal information held by us will be kept confidential in accordance with the PDPA and other applicable law and this Privacy Policy. We will retain your personal information for such period of time as may be required or permitted by law for the aforesaid purposes. We will cease to retain your personal data, or remove the means by which the data can be associated with you as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves the purpose for which the personal data was collected, and is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.

Accuracy, access and correction of personal information

It is important that the personal data you provide to us is accurate and complete. Please update us of changes to your personal data, or in the event you believe that the personal data we have about you is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or out of date.

You may access your personal information held by us and request correction of the same in accordance with the PDPA and other applicable law. If you wish to access or correct your personal information, please contact us at service-sg@puyioptical.com or log in to your membership account to update your personal data.

In accordance with the PDPA and other applicable law, we reserve the right to charge a fee directly related to and necessary for the processing of any data access or correction request. We will inform you of the fee before processing your request.

We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible. Should we not be able to respond to your request within thirty (30) days after receiving your request, we will inform you in writing within thirty (30) days of the time by which we will be able to respond to your request. If we are unable to provide you with access to your personal information, or to make a correction requested by you, we shall generally inform you of the reasons why we are unable to do so (except where we are not required to do so under the PDPA).

This Privacy Policy applies to us and our website only. Where this site has provided links to other sites and pages which are operated by third parties, please review the privacy policy of those other sites and pages which are operated by third parties before submitting your personal information to such third parties (whether via this site or not). We are not responsible for your personal information collected by third parties.

Use of Personal Data for Marketing

We may use your personal data (including your name, contact details and other information collected) to send you marketing communications such as emails, phone calls, SMS, mail by post, WhatsApp* and other instant messaging containing information on brands, trends, news, offers, promotions, marketing activities, social media, exhibitions and new shops relating to eyewear and eyewear related products and services. The products and services may be offered by the Puyi Group under its different brands, including but not limited to Puyi Optical, Glasstique, O-O Shop, O-O Vision, Point de Vue, Reflections, Gentle Monster, Linda Farrow and other brands as may from time to time be under the Puyi Group.

We may also pass your personal data to our business partners for marketing communications (such as special offers and promotions on concerts, entertainment and special events etc.).

You may indicate your objection to our transfer and use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes relating to Puyi Group in the Personal Information Collection Statement section of our member application forms. If you do not consent to the use and/or provision of your personal data to another for use in direct marketing, we will not use or transfer your personal data for such purpose.

Security of Your Personal Information

We ensure that all information collected will be safely and securely stored. We protect your personal information by:

• restricting access to personal information;
• maintaining technology products to prevent unauthorized computer access;
• securely destroying your personal information when it's no longer needed for our record retention purposes

We use 256-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology when processing your financial details. 256-bit SSL encryption is one of the most secure encryption methods after 128-bit and 192-bit encryption, and is used in most modern encryption algorithms, protocols and technologies.

IP address and Cookies

We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration, in any event it may leave traceable marks of your browse history in our computer records. This is statistical data which does not reveal your identity. Similarly, cookies may be left on the hard drive of your computer which may collect information about your general internet usage. Language

If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English version and the Chinese version of this Privacy Policy, the English version of this Privacy Policy shall prevail.
